IJO Cleveland Show Recap

I'm back from a successful trip to the IJO Conference in Cleveland, Ohio. Wonder what goes on at a conference about jewelry? Here are a few highlights from my trip!

Learning about lab grown

I attended a workshop with instructors from GIA that taught on how to identify a lab grown diamond. I’m excited to learn this, as I’ve had a few requests for lab grown stones. This course helped me to learn new techniques of identifying natural and lab grown diamonds.

Finding great new products

I ordered over 100 new pieces at the show! I am excited to be bringing in 6 colored stone engagement rings, over 50 pairs of earrings, rings, necklaces and more. I’m adding more Frank Reubel Designs pieces and Lafonn pieces too! I'm hoping everything will be delivered in 6-8 weeks.

I’m also teaming up with Jewelers Mutual and will soon be offering JM Care Plans, a 3-year extended warranty that covers a variety of routine repairs. I’ll be posting on Facebook and Instagram when things start arriving!

Meeting cool new people

A huge thank you to IJO for introducing me to Elise and Mike from Sheret Jewelers. Elise and Mike became jewelry store owners under circumstances similar to mine.

Trying fun new things

If you go to Cleveland, I have two must go places for you – Great Lakes Science Center and Mabel’s BBQ. Great Lakes Science Center has hands on science experiments that I really enjoyed. They also are the home of the decommissioned William G. Mather ship, the former flag ship of Cleveland Cliffs. I loved seeing I loved seeing postcards from Marquette in the book of places they visited. Mable’s BBQ had the best brisket I’ve ever had. It was out of this world good.
